Despite the Stipulated Agreement signed by Judge Price prohibiting the Ferry County OHV ordinances of 2007 and 2008, and the 18 months of public input with the majority opposing the OHV ordinance/s, County Commissioners Joe Bond and Brad Miller wish to proceed with the EIS. Read more |
QCC Comments on County Scoping Notice for the OHV Ordinance and the Environmental Impact Statement Analysis
Earlier this month Quiet Communities Coalition, submitted comments on the Scoping Notice. We recommended the County take the No Action alternative. The other alternatives do not meet the State RCW 46.9 and are dependent on a change in that law.

Ferry County Permanently Prohibited from Implementing Off Highway Vehicle Ordinance

On November 20, 2008 Superior Court Judge, Michael P. Price signed and entered a stipulated order granting a permanent injunction in the case between Quiet Communities Coalition and Ferry County Commissioners. More |
New City of Republic OHV Ordinance
The City of Republic issued a new draft OHV ordinance altering the draft approved by the public committee. The new draft OHV ordinance would allow snowmobiles in addition to permitting OHVs and ATVs on city streets and right-of-ways.
